WinWraper in the System Tray
When you close the main window, WinWraper does not quit, it minimises to the system tray (the notification area in the bottom-right of the taskbar). This lets you manage services quickly at any time without needing the full window open.
Opening the window from the tray
- Double-click the WinWraper icon in the tray to open the Service List window.
Right-click context menu
Right-click the WinWraper icon in the tray to see the menu:
| Menu item | Action |
|---|---|
| ▶ Start All | Start all services that are currently Stopped |
| ■ Stop All | Stop all services that are currently Running |
| ↺ Restart All | Restart all services |
| 📋 Service List | Open the Service List window (same as double-clicking the tray icon) |
| ℹ About / License | Open the About window, view version, license status, renew the key |
| Exit | Close WinWraper completely (stops all services first) |
ℹ️Note
"Exit" stops all running services before closing the application, except services registered as Windows Services (those continue running via SCM).
Tray icon state changes
The WinWraper icon in the tray can change colour to reflect the overall status:
- Normal: All services are running as expected.
- Warning: One or more services are in Circuit Open or have an error.
Why doesn't closing the window exit WinWraper?
WinWraper runs in the background so it can:
- Continue monitoring services (Metrics and Watcher keep recording data).
- Auto-restart services if they crash while the window is closed.
- Save resources, the window doesn't need to be open for WinWraper to work.
